The WPTA Executive Board is elected by WPTA membership. When board seats become vacant between election cycles, the WPTA Board appoints interim board members to fill vacant board seats until the next election.

President
Sets and leads Executive Board meetings for the year. Represents the Association in all official capacities. Acts as first point of contact for the District and other associations. Acts or designates a representative for employee grievance & complaint issues. Vice President Performs the duties of the President during the absence of the President. The Vice-President/President Elect maintains and develops the organization’s website, and provides at minimum quarterly newsletters (digitally or otherwise) to all members regarding non-confidential association activities and events. Elected for Two Years; First Year as Vice-President, and Second Year as President. Secretary Develops formal meeting agendas, coordinates meetings, keeps the minutes of the meetings, maintains all correspondence, is responsible for updating the website with general membership meeting notes, preserving closed meeting session notes to a designated private server/location to be determined by the Executive Board, and organizing social events at least twice annually. (Two Year Term) Treasurer Prepares an annual budget, and collects, records, and disburses all monies of the Association. The Treasurer pays monthly expenses and keeps an accurate record of all financial transactions. A financial report shall be given at each Executive Board and general membership meeting. The treasurer coordinates all financial obligations, tax filings, liability insurance, is responsible for researching CD updates, and along with the president coordinates when change of officers takes place, at the designated financial institution. (Two Year Term) ProTech Representative Acts as the first point of contact and liaison for members of the Association, including being the first point of contact for grievances, and to present any such concerns to the Executive Board, outlining which parts of the contract may have been violated and/or to help pro-tech members navigate the Problem-Solving process outlined in the current negotiated agreement. (Two Year Term) Insurance Committee Representative Not a board seat, but the insurance committee representative attends monthly insurance committee meetings, and keeps the WPTA board informed of any changes. The insurance committee makes recommendations to the school board regarding policy that affects our members’ medical and dental insurance programs. (Two Year Commitment) |
